South Central India Network for Development Alternatives
SCINDeA
South Central India Network for Development Alternatives (SCINDeA) is a Network of is a network of 14 field based voluntary organisations who are geographically located in the South Central Region of the country and working in the Chitoor District of Andhra Pradesh, Kolar and Ramnagara Districts of Karnataka and 10 Districts in Tamilnadu. The Network has been involved in development initiatives for the past 30 years.
CROSS has been a partner of SCINDeA Since 2008 and working in 20 vilages located in G.D.Nellore mandal
Activities conducted under this project grant include promotion of alternative livelihoods for poor families and collective income generation programmes.
- Children and youth development programmes through establishment of Child Resource Centres (CRCs)- provision of books and play materials; and equipment for conducting tuition classes by giving items such as black boards, steel trunks for safe-keeping of items given etc;
- training of village youth through a formal group counselling workshop to stress the importance of continuation of higher education, consultations and career advice, holding of Life Skills Education (LSE) classes etc;
- Organizing and conducting meetings for capacity building of School Development & Monitoring Committee members who form part of the Parents Teachers Committees of government public schools at the village-level; community orientation on child rights and protection, - Strengthening of Community Linkages including capacity building and training of local resource cadres/ Village Unit members through the conduction of seminars on human rights, and observance of commemorative days
- Staff development through the capacity building of and review meetings for the project staff periodically including organising an exposure event to other NGOs of the Network.
Due to New FCRA Amendments 2020 Second receipts is not allowed we could able to receive funds from SCINDeA.
