Partnership with LACIM: Transforming Pilligundlapalli
We are delighted to share the inspiring story of collaboration between the France-based organization LACIM (Les Amis d’un Coin de l’Inde et du Monde) and the tribal community of Pilligundlapalli, a village nestled in the hills of S.R. Puram, Chittoor District.
In partnership with a dedicated 32-member group from Montbrison city, France, LACIM has adopted the Pilligundlapalli Tribal Village for an 8-year period. This initiative aims to uplift the village and its residents, with a special focus on empowering women and children through sustainable development programs.
Key Initiatives Under the Program:
- Economic Empowerment for Women
- Small loans are being provided to women to set up and expand micro-businesses.
- The loan amounts are revolved within the community, enabling other women to benefit from the initiative and upgrade their ventures.
- Education and Support for Children
- A community hall has been constructed, serving as a hub for various village activities.
- An evening study center has been established, complete with a dedicated teacher and essential materials for children’s education.
- Village Development
- Beyond economic and educational support, LACIM continues to identify and implement developmental activities to enhance the overall quality of life in the village.
